Materials:
Recyclable Materials:
- At Signtek, we make a conscious effort to use recycled /recyclable materials where possible, including woods, and plastics that can be recycled at the end of their life.
UV Based inks:
- We made the transition to a UV flatbed printer back in 2018, to reduce harmful emissions created by solvent based inks.
Energy efficient:
- In our fabrication department, we use a lot of air dry paint, as opposed to oven cured.
Waste Reduction:
- We make a conscious effort to reduce waste by maximising the material usage, whilst also using scrap material and offcuts where possible.
Design and Usage
Durability & Longevity:
- Using modern designing technology and experienced staff with up to date knowledge on the industry, we always design signs that are built for longevity, avoiding the need of replacement and therefore causing waste.
Reusability:
- A popular sign fabricated at Signtek is the ‘track and rail’. We created this design so that it can be moved, or easily transported and reused for different events, reducing the need for replacement signs.
Eco – Friendly Lighting:
- At Signtek, we only use efficient lighting including LEDs or halogens for our illuminated signage.
End of Life Management
Recycling:
- We always recycle scrap aluminium and plastics, and sort the different material waste into separate bins.
- We offer a take back service included with our installations – this is where the old signage is returned to Signtek for recycling or repurposing.
Promoting Sustainability:
Local sourcing:
- Signtek always looks to source and support locally where possible. This is in order to reduce transportation emissions whilst contributing economically to local production.
